Audio not working in Laptop or Computer 2021 100% fix
Hi friends I am again back with a brand new post on my blog - The Helping Daily. Today I will show you how to fix the computer or laptop audio not working. The best thing about this article is that it works on every windows version no mater if you are using windows 10 or 7 or 8. I think you are not upgraded to windows 11 yet because we have to meet a higher level of hardware requirement in our PC and laptops to upgrade on it.
I was tired of searching a best method to fix the audio driver problem in my computer. I watched a lot of You tube videos and read a lot of articles in the internet but none of them worked. Seriously, I struggled more than two weeks to fix the audio problem of my PC. Currently I am using windows 10. I had also faced this problem when I was using the windows 7. It seems to be very tough problem for users but there is nothing to worry about if you have connected the hardware properly. Here you will know how to find the actual problem of your laptop or computer if it is not producing the sound.
Internal Audio Settings:
Firstly, Check the plugs and the speakers correctly if they are properly connected or not. Make sure that you have plugged the speaker's jack in the audio output port which seems green small hole at the back of your CPU. Then plug the power jack of the speaker either in the CPU or in your power supply wherever your speaker is compatible. Then have a look at the right corner of your taskbar if the sound icon is muted or unmuted. Unmute and check the sound if it is muted. If still sound is not coming from laptop/PC. Follow the following steps.
Click on the sound icon and you will see like this.
Look there where I have underlined. This is the name of the audio driver you have currently using in your computer/laptop. If you have another driver installed it appears there.
Now enable the speaker if it is disabled.
Copy the above settings to your computer/laptop. There you will see the speakers like this (the icons may vary) Right click on the top icon of the speaker and uncheck the disable option if it is checked. You don't have to do any more settings there because the default settings works the best. Get out of the dialogue box by applying the changes.
Drivers Settings:
Now it's the time to check your drivers. If your hardware is ok, and the sound setting is also ok then you may be facing the driver problem. Lets open the device manager of your laptop or computer to update the driver and check if it is working or not. Mainly sound not working in windows 10 is because of driver problem.
Press Windows + R into your keyboard. This will open Run infront of you. Type devmgmt.msc in to the search box like this.
Then in to your device manager you have to find sound video and game controller. Expand it by clicking the (>) button like this. This will show you the driver you have in your PC or laptop. As I have installed the Realtek Audio Driver in my computer it is showing Realtek Audio Driver there.
Here you will get all the tools to update your driver, unstill the driver and check if it is working properly or not. After following the steps till now right click on the Realtek high definition audio. You may see the name like SSD audio like, I don't know the other names but you will see a audio option there. Right click on that audio driver. You will See like this then,
Here in the window you can see the options to update, disable and unstill the driver. Keep in mind that the disable device is not checked. You must keep it unchecked. Now firstly go to the properties and see in the status. If you see the message that This device is working correctly. it's cool. But if it is showing any other message you should follow the message there. I am pretty much sure that it will show the above message in most of you.
Get back and click on the update the driver. You must have an internet connection to update the driver. In most of the case audio does not works in windows 10, 7 and 8 because of the outdated driver. That's why try updating the driver simply.
If you did the above step and your sound problem in windows 10, windows 8, windows 7 is not fixed yet then try uninstalling the driver. Simply click on the uninstall device and then restart your computer or laptop. It will automatically reinstall the audio driver in to your computer or laptop.
Is your audio problem in PC/laptop solved?
If not don't worry I have a last and the perfect method to give you. This time we are going to manually install the audio driver to your PC. I am going to tell you the website and guide you how to download and install Realtek high definition audio driver?
