Hi friends, I am going to share 5 ways to boost up your computer speed. It's normal that the performance of your computer does not remain the same like in the beginning. Boost up your computer speed

Usually we browse internet and open various application and software in our computer and we don't think that it is leaving unnecessary files inside our computer. Such files are known as temporary files in our computer. We also call them temp file. We need to delete those temporary files from our computer so that certain space can freed up from our C drive.

There are many folders in our computer where we can find those temporary files. Such as temp folder, %temp%, folder and prefetch folder. 

Delete the temporary files

Firstly lets know about the ways how to find the temp file and the best method to delete the temp files from our computer.

TEMP FOLDER

Step 1:

Open run command by pressing Win + R or Mac + R from your key board it will open Run dialogue box in you computer screen.

Step 2:

Enter temp into the search bar and hit enter.

Step 3:

It will open the folder having the temporary internet and app data which are junk and they have no use in future. We must delete such files to free up our computer's space.

Select all by pressing CTRL + A from your computer and Delete permanently by pressing Shift + Delete from your keyboard.

%TEMP% FOLDER

We can also find the temporary files inside the %temp% folder so that let's check it.

Step 1:

Open run command by pressing Win + R or Mac + R from your key board it will open Run dialogue box in you computer screen.

Step 2:

Enter %temp% into the search bar and hit enter.

Step 3:

You will see bundle of temporary internet files stored there. Delete the files permanently because they are almost useless for you. Do skip if any file is not being delete. It happens because it is being used at that time.

Note: Make sure that all the programs are closed. Otherwise you cannot delete the temporary files from the different temp folders.

Prefetch Folder

This folder needs the administrator permission to assess the file. So that simply continue giving the administrator permission to it when it asks you to give. 

Step 1:

Open run command by pressing Win + R or Mac + R from your key board it will open Run dialogue box in you computer screen.

Step 2:

Enter prefetch into the search bar and hit enter.

Step 3:

This folder contains the highest numbers of the junk and temporary files inside it. Simply delete it by selecting all and pressing Shift + Delete to delete them permanently.

Close the Start up programs and Background software

The program which automatically starts at the startup also makes a computer slow. There could be much software in our computer which runs in background and uses the RAM of our computer that also makes our computer slow. You can close the background software and the startup program to boost up your computer speed.

Mostly we can see the internet browser, torrent downloader starting when we open our computer they are called startup programs. We can close the background programs and the startup program from the task manager.

Let's follow the steps 

You can open the task manager by simply pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL from your keyboard. After pressing those keys you can see the security options in the display. Choose the task manager in from the security options.

After entering to the task manager you can see the different tabs in the top of the task manager box. 

1. Choose the process tab if it's not chosen already by clicking on it.
2. You can see the processes running in the back ground and the memory they are using.
3. Right click on the process you want to close and in the option click on end task. 

Note: Do not end the task you are not familiar with. It may create malfunctioning if your computer.

 

Disabling the startup software

You are still on the task manager. Now click on the Startup tab lying in the top of the task manager. Then you can see the program that automatically opens whenever you open the computer.

Right click on the program that is annoying you as well as slowing down the computer.

In the option click in disable to disable it. This is another method to boost up your computer speed.

Optimizing Cleaning the C Drive

This is the third method to boost up your computer speed. It checks if there is any errors in the C Drive and also checks for the health of the drive. You can optimize all of your Drives.

4. You will land on the general tab of the C drive property.
5. Click on the disk clean up.

2. Right click on the C drive of your computer
3. Go to the properties
4. You will land on the general tab of the C drive property.
5. Choose the tool option it will start optimizing the C Drive.
6. Follow the instruction the computer guides you. This process may take few minutes and wait for the optimization it checks for the errors and the disk fragmentation.
